Sad to lose one of our fully qualified electricians Andy- but the big world beckons and hes off travelling again!. Andy was a valued member of the the team here at EICR Edinburgh and always carried out to a level that met our high standards. Andy was skilled in all aspects of the electrical trade from electrical testing to fuse board installations and much more. All our customers liked Andy as did we- the door is always open and thank you for your hard work and dedication.

We recently performed a comprehensive EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) at Haddington West Parish Church in Edinburgh.

We found 8 of the 40 shades to be in an immediately dangerous condition, ready to fall. Sited 20 feet above the public seating area. We found low insulation resistance readings (faults) simply due to sloppy installation work ( completed in 2009). If it’s not safe, it’s not good enough. Your safety is our number one priority at EICR Edinburgh.

Mark and his team recently did a complete rewire of a newly purchased house for me. The electrics had not been looked at in many years and the entire house needed rewiring, a new fuseboard as well as sockets and switches needing updating. The free quote I received was very fair and the job was completed on time. I would recommend Mark and his team to anyone and would definitely use them for any electrical work in the future.

Mark and Andy conducted an EICR of a one bedroom flat. There were a multitude of problems which presented themselves in a recently renovated bathroom, with serious faults, which were immediately disconnected. Mark advised that I should make the renovation company aware of these faults and give them an opportunity to rectify these issues. As I was on a tight schedule to prepare my property for rental, he was prepared to and able to ensure remedial work (rewire, location and correction of fault on lighting circuit, amongst many others) was carried out two days before I was due to relocate, even making rearrangements to his work schedule. In addition, Mark also carried out PAT testing and installed hardwired fire alarms and CO detectors in the flat with no damage to existing décor. His professionalism and work ethic is second to none; his work is to a very high standard and I am very grateful for his help, advice and services. I would have absolutely no hesitation in using him again, or in giving a recommendation. He really is an asset to all the electrical contractors out there.

Customer Testimonial for Electrical Inspection and Repair

EICR came twice – first of all to carry out the inspection and report on what needed to be repaired/upgraded to current letting standards. They then came to carry out the work, which had all been itemised and costed so we knew which things needed to be done now and at what cost. This was really helpful in allowing work to be phased. On both occasions, Mark and his assistant came when arranged and carried out the agreed work to a very professional standard, cleaning up afterwards. I think it is a very good idea that we paid a deposit before each visit. This provided reassurance that Mark would come as agreed and, from his point of view, it meant that we wouldn’t cancel at the last minute, having “found a better offer” (which we hadn’t!).

Smoke Alarms & EICR Testing – Customer Testimonial

I recently came back to Edinburgh where I own 3 properties to oversee the installation work for new smoke alarms and EICR testing. I contacted Mark at EICR Edinburgh and was relieved to have someone guide me through everything I needed to do, Mark also organised a Gas fitter, Legionaire tester and a company to carry out an energy survey. There was minor remedial work which was corrected swiftly, 1 fuseboard to change to a modern one, 3 smoke alarm systems and hard wired CO detectors installed in all properties. There was minimum damage to decor and all in all a very neat installation, and Marks contacts were also very helpful. Thanks again.
